澳门永利娱appEscaping the Garden of Eden—the Truman Show

It just occurred to me that is whether the protagonist Truman is a
true man or not after watching the extraordinary movie, a dark comedy
called the Truman Show whose name sounds like a reality television at
first.
402 ocm永利手机版,   Some may say “Yes” for that he is the only one living in the peaceful
and tidy town called Seaheaven while others who accompany him, including
his “wife” Meryl and his friend Marlon, are just making a performance or
earn a living. The others might say “No”, owing to Truman is also living
in the world which is created and maneuvered by the director of the
Truman Show in the film named Christof that is similar to the name of
Jesus with a specific and symbolic meaning to some degree. The whole
film seems like a slowly moving process about Truman looking for and
turning in to a true himself from a sham one through his own efforts
though he is quite timid at the very beginning.
To be frank everyone in the our real world is Truman, which makes the
sole way to differentiate him and us is that Truman walk out Christof’s
world with a groundbreaking and authoritative stride at the end of the
movie while the majority of us are still and will be still wandering in
our own world with a life-long time complaining, struggling and seeking,
even if we have found the approach and been extremely close to the door
to a new world before we died. In a certain extent, we all live in a
world assigned by our parents, teachers, society and ourselves maybe. We
can find the assigned trace in the every detail of our life where we
realize that we cannot achieve our original dream in most cases before
we coming to a compromise and carrying on our peaceful and stuffy life
with silence. But where is our teenage dreams? It might fly to the other
side of the earth Fiji without saying goodbye lonely and sorrowfully the
moment we give up the hope and courage and accept the reality as we
released the stickers of Truman’s first girlfriend, Sylvia, in his hands
in our heart without a confession.

  The Stage of Life
澳门永利娱app,All the world’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and entrances.
And one man in his time plays many parts.
His acts being seven ages.
                        ——William Shakespeare
Just as Shakespeare wrote, world’s a stage, life’s a stage. And this
is what I realized after watching the movie “The Truman Show”.
Truman’s life is a big joke. The movie is a comedy, but Truman
himself is really tragical. His life is totally controlled by others,
including his father’s death and his marriage.
After watching the movie, I feel deeply sad. Truman’s life is virtual.
But who knows, whether the world we live in is virtual or real. Christof
says to Truman: “there’s no more truth out there than there is in the
world I created for you. The same lies, the same deceit. But in my
world, you have nothing to fear.”
Truman lives in a almost perfect world which is everyone expects. But
he leaves this perfect world for his true love and real world. There is
no sequel for this movie. So nobody knows if Truman has regret for his
choice. Will he miss the town, the peaceful life and the sincere people
in Seeheaven? Maybe yes. However, we don’t know.
I’ve read lots of film reviews of this movie. Someone admires
Truman’s braveness. Some think highly of the value of true love and
reality. And some consider Christof is the one to blame.
In my opinion, I have another thinking about this movie. It makes us
to think about what is true in life. Is everything and everybody we meet
real? Are they honest and frank? Nobody knows. You can’t controll
other’s mind, nor can they. But, the only thing is to believe is that
there is true love and true beauty in this world. They are of great
value.
However, life is rough, so we gotta be tough. Life is beautiful if
you have the eye for it.

The Truman Show is a film which was published by Paramount Pictures
Corporation. It was directed by Peter Weir, written by Andrew Niccol.
And it was released in June 5, 1998.The cast includes Jim Carry, as the
main character Truman Burbank, as well as Laura Linney, Truman’s wife;
Noah Emmerich, as Truman’s friend Marlon; Natascha McElhone, Truman’s
college schoolmate Sylvia; and Ed Harris, as the creator of the film
Christof.
The principal story of the film is about Truman, who is the man living
in a constructed reality television show since born, and has no aware of
it. Every time every second, Truman’s life was broadcasted to every
corner of the world. But since his long-dead father turn up again,
Truman becomes suspicious of his life. After several rough trials,
Truman escapes the film studio eventually.
For the beginning, I’m going to talk about the Characters-Naming. Like
‘Truman’, it means ‘True-man’. At first, Truman has nonsense of the
situation he has trapped. But after some accidents, he leaving his
childhood behind and becoming a True-man. As for Christof, the director
in the story, just like his name, Christof acting a man like Christ or
God. Every staff, actor, actress and stage properties are under his
control. He represented Jesus as an ‘off-Christ ‘or Antichrist.
What’s more, the film is full of religion. Like the conversation between
Truman and Marlon at the bridge, it can be compared to the conversation
between Moses and God. And the director, Christof corresponds to the
Christ. The little world ‘Seahaven’ refers to the paradise. When Sylvia
tell Truman the truth about his world, we can not help to think of the
scene when serpent instigate Eve to eat the fruit of the trees of the
garden.
When film is to the end, Truman finishes his final Truman show when he
finally said: ‘In case I don’t see you, good afternoon good evening and
goodnight!’ And it’s a symbol that saying goodbye to the Truman show and
saying hello to the Truman’s show. It’s evidentlly a satisfactory and
suitable ending.
To sum up, The Truman Show is an extraordinary film. Its unique story
and fabulous acting skill both make this a well-known film. And it
become a sightworthy film

Then, to contend for life demands the acceptance of the result of
sacrificing one’s life. Truman is determined to pursue the true world at
the cost of his own life. He doesn’t know what punishment he may face on
the way to truth, but what he only knows is to try.

To suspect needs great courage, for one have to the defeat the fear that
the truth, which will be beyond understanding and out of control, may
reverse one’s world. However, Truman is courageous enough to probe an
unknown world, even though the result may be devastating.

It is a modern story of escaping the Garden of Eden, however, this time
there is only one true man but hundreds of thousands of “Gods”.
